Oxfords, brogues & derbies
Cap-toe oxfords for suits and formal events, wingtip brogues and derbies for the office and the weekend — all in leather, in US men's 7 to 13.
What is the difference between an oxford and a derby?
An oxford has closed lacing — the eyelet tabs are stitched under the front of the shoe — which looks sleeker and more formal. A derby has open lacing and fits a higher instep more easily.
Are brogues formal?
Brogueing (the decorative punching) makes a shoe a little less formal. A cap-toe brogue still works with a suit; a full wingtip pairs best with tweed, flannel and chinos.
